01/05/2010 - AUSDECK RACING PARTNERS WITH NEW SPONSORS

Ausdeck Racing is proud to announce a new partnership with Croft Construction and Cool Chassis for the remainder of the 2010 season and beyond. Queensland driver Andrew Scheuerle is pleased to be working with an Australian chassis brand like Cool Chassis and thanks to Croft Construction South Australia, he now has the opportunity to start testing immediately.

Andrew sat in his new car three weeks ago while testing at Brisbane International Speedway. Ausdeck Racing has also changed to Afco shock absorbers and last night was the first night Scheuerle ran with the new shocks. Considering he was unsure about what the result would be, finishing in 6th place in the preliminary feature race was satisfying enough for the previous Qld Champion.

He timed in 14th quick and had plenty of work ahead of him to get him enough points to move him into the top ten. The first heat resulted in a 2nd place finish and while Scheuerle was not completely thrilled with the feel of the car, he was with the results. In the second heat, Scheuerle made contact with another car resulting in a deflating right rear tyre while he moved from 6th to second in the first few laps. Rolling around on caution lights, Scheuerle was hoping the race would get underway and if enough heat could be generated, he might just be able to hold on. In a situation where most thought the tyre would pop, Scheuerle raced with his head and held on to take second place comfortably with no-one challenging while Alan Woods when on to win the heat.

The third round of heats saw Scheuerle start 7th and finish 5th gaining him enough points to start out of 7 in the preliminary feature race. Slowly gaining more confidence in his new car, he worked his way forward one position while trying different racing lines and seeing how the car felt overall.

"I'm not happy with how I'm time trialling but the car is feeling much better and I am pretty happy with the overall result. We'll see what tonight brings and we said a few weeks back that we are using the remainder of this season to develop our package for next season and that's what we are doing. I've had some podiums in the past month so I'm looking forward to getting even more out of the Q25 car tonight. We've changed a few things overnight, I've had another brand new shock built more to my liking and we'll see where we go from here." Scheuerle said today.

"I really want to thank Croft Construction for their support and also my team owner Stewart Craig. Croft Construction are the primary reason we went with Cool Chassis and another is that I am yet to see the likes of Brooke Tatnell have a bad season in the frame. The results really do speak for themselves. We've got a long way to go but all in all, I am reasonably happy with how things are progressing. I also am grateful to have the best equipment in the country, I am always provided with the best there is and I have a great crew behind me so I really appreciate being a part of Ausdeck Racing."

Ausdeck Racing are starting tonight's final night of the Queensland Championship sitting in 6th position on points. Stay updated with live results as they happen via the Ausdeck Racing facebook page.
