08/05/2010 - BROKEN AXLE ENDS ANDREW SCHEUERLE'S NIGHT

Andrew Scheuerle suffered an unfortunate part failure on Saturday night at BIS with the diff axle breaking in half on entry to the corner, causing the Q25 Ausdeck Patios & Roofing Cool chassis to take a spectacular flip and damage his new frame. A disappointed Scheuerle walked back to the pits after racing in 2nd position and staying with race leader Danny Reidy, who went on to win the evening's feature race.

On all accounts, it looked to be the night Andrew had been searching for. His car was fast as he timed in 3rd quick for the night. The first heat saw him race from 6th to first and the second heat from 5th to third placing him highest on points for the marble draw for the six lap dash event. Scheuerle drew number 5 for the dash and finished in third position for the A Main.

The Cool chassis and Afco shock absorbers have proven to be critical changes for the Ausdeck Racing team with Scheuerle seeing some of his best results all season in the past two race meetings. In a night where Scheuerle had hoped to take a race win, he slipped quickly into second place within the first corner and stayed with leader Danny Reidy.

"It was going to be down to lap traffic, Danny and I were both as fast as each other and the track was pretty good for the main event but unfortunately, it ended way too quick for us. I can't believe all season, I haven't even come close to hurting a chassis and finally I've got a brand new Cool frame that is working so well and we damage it! BHR Fabrication will no doubt have it ready for the next race meeting but it's just frustrating. I've never had a diff break in half like that one did. I couldn't believe it. It's definitely disappointing, I expected a podium if not a win this weekend but I there's always next time that's for sure. At least we're back, competitive again and we're confident we'll get some great results soon."

The Ausdeck Racing team will be back at Brisbane International Speedway in a fortnight's time where Scheuerle will hope to get a more favourable result.
